Carving to Match a Sample
We are often called upon to carve an item from a gemstone material to match a sample. The jeweler sends us a broken carving and we use a piece of material from our stock to make the new one. If you have a piece of material that you want us to use, we are happy to use your material.
If the item is geometric and it is a matter of measuring it with calipers, we can make it 99% or 100% the same as the original. When we are working with freeform or flowing shapes, it is almost impossible to make it 100% the same, so we do our best. Although we try to match it 100% exactly, sometimes that is not possible and we can come 95% close most of the time.
