I re-polished the table and star facets
of this Blue Zircon

A jewelry store in Denver brought us this ring with a blue Zircon which was very heavily worn on top.

They asked me if there was any way I could polish the star facets in addition to the table.

After examining the ring, I told him I thought that I could do so.

As you can see, the crown of this Zircon is so heavily worn that it looks like frosted glass.

my faceting machine

Here you can see that I have the ring mounted in my faceting machine and I have the ring 'inclined' so that I can polish the star facets.

'IF' the stone is tall enough and IF there are no other obstructions in the way, we can do the star facets. But that is only about 5% of the time. This is one example of a time when we were able to do that.

Finished Zircon

You can now see the new polish on the table and star facets.

The stone looked MUCH better with the new polish on the top of the stone!
