We re-polished the table of this Spessartite Garnet
while in the ring

A jeweler in Denver brought us this ring with a very fine Spessartite Garnet with chips around the table.

They didn't want to sell it in that condition and they know we can re-polish the table which it is still in the mounting.

As you can see, this is a beautiful ring.

In the larger photo you can see the chips around the table.

Another close up photo showing scratches on the table of the orange Spessartite.

More chips

In this shot you can see more chips which were not visible in the first photo.

The table also has some light scratches in the middle which the camera didn't pick up in this shot.

Re-polishing the table

This shows how we fix the ring to our faceting machine and take the table down on our polishing lap just enough to get the chips out.

Shows the Spessartite with a new polish. The chips have been repaired.

The finished table

The chips have now been removed and the table has a nice polish!
