We repaired this dark Mother of Pearl inlay

A jeweler in Denver brought us this ring which had lost one of the Mother of Pearl inlays.

We keep a stock of various colors of shell materials which we can use for repairs like this.

Ring which needs a Mother of Pearl
inlay repaired

You can see the missing dark colored Mother of Pearl inlay on the left side of the ring.

An arrow telling users to click on the photo to make it larger.

Also notice that there is no 'floor' under the inlay area separating the inlay from the finger. When the back side of an inlay is exposed to the finger, perspiration (which is acidic) can break down the Epoxy which holds the inlay in place. When that is the case, we cannot give our usualy 1 year guarantee.

Here you can see the dark Mother of Pearl shell material which we will use for the repair and also the hand tool which we use for shaping the inlay into the ring.
