A jeweler in Atlanta recently sent us a carving of a cow in Black Onyx with a broken leg. They asked us if it could be repaired.
We said, "Sure, no problem."

The broken Onyx carving
This is the carving as we received it with the broken leg.
The new leg and hoof
This is the new leg and hoof which we carved to attach to the carving.
We also flattened the broken end of the leg where the leg had broken.
Matching the leg
Here you can see how we make sure that the leg will match up to the carving.
Attaching a peg
Here you can see where we have drilled and glued in place a metal peg into the spot where we flattened off the broken part of the leg.
Attaching the new leg
We had drilled a hole into the new leg and then glued it to the peg.
