We often get requests to carve initials into black Onyx. When we show them how much better the white lettering looks against the black background of the Onyx, they usually decide to have it done with the laser.
Here you can see how striking the look is with the white image on the black background
If the letters were carved into the black Onyx, they would be very difficult to see. With the contrast of white against black, the initials can be seen from across the room.
