Diamond Ring inlaid with Black Jade
This ring came to us with a Diamond that has been hammer set flush and is already set in place. In cases such as this it is important to keep the level of the black jade flat and continuous with the shape of the ring. There was also a strip of tiny Diamonds set into a long channel which I needed to be careful of.
This is a difficult inlay to do because we must trim and sand and polish the top of the Black Jade without hurting the Diamond and also keep the gold surrounding the Diamond perfectly flat.
The sides of the Black Jade inlay are also open and polished on the outer sides.
