Lapis inlay ring with bars

To do this inlay, I needed to inlay the Lapis against a 1 carat Diamond which was already set in the gold.

I inlaid the Lapis up against the girdle of the diamond and then polished the beveled edge of the Lapis where it meets the girdle of the diamond.

On the right side of the ring you will see a dished area. You will also see 3 14kt gold rods going through the dished area. They give the appearance that the the inlay is held in by those rods. The inlay is actually epoxied in place like all inlays are.

Ring with a diamond and Lapis on both sides of the Diamond.

Finished Lapis ring

This lapis has a nice smattering of Pyrite which looks like stars in the night sky.
