You can see the white gold tube with the diamond mounted in it that the jeweler sent to us . It has smaller tubing soldered to the bottom of the larger tube. We drilled a small hole and also the larger oval hole just deep enough so that the diamond was positioned just above the level of the black Onyx.
The store wanted the tube with the diamond to sit low enought for the beginning of the angle on the bezel to begin at the edge of the stone so the bezel would stick up just a bit.
