Cut matching Mexican Opal cabochons
We were approached by a misician from the local symphony who wanted matching Mexican Opals to be mounted into a violin he was building.
We were approached by a misician from the local symphony who wanted matching Mexican Opals to be mounted into a violin he was building.
He wanted the orange colored piece, shown on the left, cut in half and into 2 matching cabochons cut to the exact specifications which are showen in his documentation.
He wanted the cabochons to have an exact length and width and with sides which were straight up and down. He wanted them domed on top and polished flat bottoms.
At left you can see the finished matching Mexican Opal cabochons. As you can see, the sides are straight up and down so that they will fit nicely into the openings which he carved into his violin.
